It's obvious that the behavior of Australian possums is different than the behavior of American possums. From what I can gather from the research I've done, the Australian possum is extremely overpopulated. That may explain a great majority of the behavior you witness.

Then again, maybe Australian possums are using hazing as a means of population control. It would be more fun than being shot, trapped, and/or poisoned. Of course, possum condoms would be a lot better for everyone concerned... but that's a whole different expose.

No squirrels were harmed by us.

Unless they were of a lower rank and tried to steal our nest, stash, and/or babies.
