Water guns :)

Water guns should not hurt the squirrels as long as the gun is used within the manufacturer's specified safety distance and you avoid squirting the squirrels in their faces. Eventually, the squirrels will learn to recognize the water gun and will leave you alone when they see it. (Actually, we've never tried this with squirrels; however it works great with cats and dogs!) For closer encounters with squirrels, either run to the nearest crowded human territory or drop something interesting in front of the squirrels to distract them as you make your getaway.

Actually, that was 95 words. :-)

SIB ACN Note: Please, don't squirt us with water guns. It's very upsetting and takes a long time for our fur to dry, leaving us with very little time to gather food.

No squirrels were harmed by us.

Unless they were of a lower rank and tried to steal our nest, stash, and/or babies.
