Notes From The Webmaster

7/24/97

Our philosophy is simple: we believe all animals (and insects) are people who happen to have different bodies than our own. Every day, we make a concentrated effort to treat all animals and MOST insects (we're slowly working towards all insects) with the dignity and respect we would give to MOST people. While this site was originally written as a humorous way to give people a different perspective of animals by personifying the behavior of an animal who is well known to most people, the webmaster's obsession with following the American government's slow spiral into the second coming of Puritanism (i.e. - the recent crackdown on sex in the military; the attempt to pass the CDA; the loss of funding to the NEA...) managed to bleed into the writing. The result was...well, you know...different...and probably not very politically correct.

As far as treating injured animals, we haven't found any injured animals in our neighborhood to treat. We don't know why...maybe the squirrels are trying to hide the evidence of their hazing activities.

We do live with cats, fish, many plants, and dozens of those tiny annoying flies that live in the plants' soil (the flies are the one's we're still treating in a less-than-humane manner by using sticky fly paper to control their numbers, but we are still working on accepting them as people...lots and lots of people...lots and lots of very tiny people...lot and lots of very tiny, annoying people...lots and lots of very tiny, annoying people who won't get out of the way of the computer screen - **SMACK!**)

*"Peanut Oil" abuse has been linked to 75% of all squirrel hazing deaths.

No squirrels were harmed by us.

Unless they were of a lower rank and tried to steal our nest, stash, and/or babies.
